Tailored reflexology techniques
Reflexology is beneficial for both body and mind. It can relieve tension, help you to relax deeply and improve wellbeing.
When I arrive at your house for the appointment, I will bring a reclining chair into your house for you to sit on and will ask to borrow one of your kitchen/dining chairs to sit on myself. Alternatively, some clients prefer to sit in their own comfy chair, this is absolutely fine and we will discuss the best seating arrangement.
Your reflexology treatment involves me using my hands and fingers to apply gentle pressure on your feet. You will get the most out of a treatment if you close your eyes, listen to the music and try to slow your breathing.
After your treatment, it's important to remember to drink plenty of water and try to take it easy for about an hour. I will discuss possible side effects with you but you can always phone me for a chat if you notice anything afterwards.
Clients have different reasons for booking a reflexology treatment and I use my skills and experience to tailor the session to each individual.
Mindful Reflexology - For clients who are living with stress, anxiety and depression, reflexology can be a great support. I have training and experience to help boost emotional wellbeing and can offer self-help techniques and general advice to those who would find it beneficial.
Reflexology for Menopause - This is a time of transition that can be particularly difficult for some women. I use focused reflexology techniques to help support clients through this time and am able to share reflexology research and lifestyle factors that have been found to ease menopausal symptoms.
Reflexology for Lymph Drainage- This is an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. The aim is to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body. It is a unique sequence that has been researched and developed by Sally Kay, whilst working in Cancer Care. This treatment is great for anyone living with secondary lymphoedema and has been found to be very beneficial to clients suffering with conditions such as arthritis, asthma, eczema, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, sinus problems, migraines.
Hand Reflexology - For those who would prefer to receive their reflexology treatment on their hands instead of their feet. The reflexes on the hands are just as effective as those on the feet and for some conditions it can be more beneficial to work on the hands. A full hand reflexology treatment is extremely relaxing, will calm the systems of the body, reduce anxiety symptoms and increase feelings of wellbeing.
Precision Reflexology - This is a technique which is centred around the "linking" technique. This "linking" technique connects specific reflex points of the feet in order to connect to the subtle energy of the client. The aim being to achieve homeostasis. It is a light touch approach which is powerful and precise and uses a person's subtle energy rather than relying on pressure. It can be very effective when working with fragile clients or those finding it hard to release held emotions within the body. Precision Reflexology can help those on their journey offering space for reflection and change. It works on a deep unconscious level and is truly holistic - working with mind, body and spirit.
